The Names view is a tab within the Accounting Tab. This view shows a list of all Parties or Providers that have an existing name link with Customers or Vendors in QuickBooks Online.
NOTE: The Names view is blank when your firm's QuickBooks Online company is initially connected to Neos. Any name links that existed in the QuickBooks SDK Integrator will have to be relinked.
When adding a new name link, the Customer or Vendor must already exist in QuickBooks Online and the Party or Provider must already exist in Neos.
To create a new name link:
Select the Names view on the Accounting Tab.
Click the + Name button.
On the Link Name window, enter the following fields to create the link.
Name in Neos – Use the search field to locate the name (Party or Provider) from Neos. This is required before moving to the next field.
Company – Select the QuickBooks Online company that this name should be linked with.
ID – The ID number of the selected name will display.
Link Type – Select the type of link (Customer or Vendor).
Sync Options – Choose to Link Only or Link & Update (updates the name and address).
4. Click the Next button to continue.
5. In the second part of this process, you must locate that same name from the list of names in your QuickBooks Online account. Use the Search field to quickly find a name.
6. Select the Name and click the Update Link button.
NOTE: If the selected name is already linked in QuickBooks Online, the following will display.
Clicking Update Link will prompt a message alerting you that the selected contact is already linked in QuickBooks.
7. A success banner will display when the link has been created.
8. When the Names view is refreshed, the selected name will now display in the grid.
Delete Name Link
To unlink a name link:
Select the checkbox of the name(s) you wish to unlink.
Click the Delete button, above the grid.
On the Unlink Name window, confirm your intention and click the Delete button to proceed.
A success banner will display when the name link has been severed. The linked name has been removed from the grid.
