Accessing the Accident Information Tab

The Accident Information tab is an elective tab in all Case Types of Neos that allows your firm to enter all relevant accident information. When this tab is activated, standard fields will display, saving time from having to create a custom user-defined tab for this data. Adjustments made on this field will display in the Activity Feed for the Case.

NOTE: You must have at least Enabled permissions to Case > Accident Information Tab.

To access the Accident Information Tab, navigate to a Case and select the Accident Information tab from the list view of tabs on the left. Accident information can be added, modified, or deleted.

NOTE: A user-defined layout cannot be created for this tab.

  • Date of Accident – Enter the date and time of the accident. Click the calendar icon to select the month-date-year hours-minutes-a/p.

  • City – Type the city where the accident occurred.

  • County – Type the county where the accident occurred.

  • Plaintiff On Phone – Select if the plaintiff was on the phone at the time of the accident (Yes, No, N/A, ?, <blank>).

  • Defendant On Phone – Select if the defendant was on the phone at the time of the accident (Yes, No, N/A, ?, <blank>).

  • Photos Taken – Select if photos were taken of the accident (Yes, No, N/A, ?, <blank>).

  • Description of Injuries – Enter a description of the injuries from the accident.

Vehicles Involved

Use the grid to list all vehicles involved in the accident. To add a vehicle, click the + Add Vehicle button on the top right of the grid.

Enter the following fields on the Add Vehicle window:

Occupants

  • Driver – When adding a vehicle, the Driver field is required. Use the search field to find a contact in Neos.

  • Passengers – Use the dropdown to select the parties from the case. A different contact can be searched if needed.

  • Driver License # - Enter the driver's license number.

  • Owner – Use the search to find a contact in Neos.

    Vehicle Info

  • Year – Type the year of the vehicle.

  • Make – Type the make of the vehicle, up to 50 characters.

  • Model – Type the model of the vehicle, up to 50 characters.

  • Color – Type the color of the vehicle, up to 50 characters.

  • VIN – Type the VIN number of the vehicle, up to 17 alphanumeric characters.

  • License Plate – Type the license plate of the vehicle, up to 50 characters.

  • State – Select the state in which the vehicle is registered, up to 50 characters.

Accident Details

  • Airbag Deployed – Select the checkbox if the airbag was deployed.

  • Seatbelts Worn – Select the checkbox if the seatbelts were worn.

  • Ticket Issued – Select the checkbox if a ticket was issued.

  • Notes – Enter additional details about this vehicle that can be useful for the case.

Click the Save button to add only this vehicle or, click Save and add another to save this entry and immediately display another blank vehicle screen if multiple vehicles were involved. Cancel will abort your changes.

Existing vehicles can be modified by clicking the pencil icon. The Edit Vehicle window will display with all the same fields. Click the Save button to save all changes to the Accident Info Tab.

To delete a vehicle, click the trash can icon. Confirm your selection on the Delete Vehicle warning message. Click Save to keep your recent changes.
