Custom AI Tags can be added from the AI Tags Directory in Neos. All tags (custom and standard) will be available in the Neos for Word Add-in. When tags are created, users can preview the tag output by configuring AI options. The preview shows an example of the content that NeosAI could generate when performing the Generate with NeosAI option. The configured preview and tag output preview are not saved and do not initiate document generation.
NOTE: Your firm must have NeosAI Platinum and Staff must have the Special Permissions > NeosAI and AI: Manage Prompts & Tags set to Enabled.
To create a custom AI Tag:
Navigate to Settings > AI Tags.
Click the + New AI Tag button above the grid.
Complete the following fields on the Edit Tag tab within the Create AI Tag window.
Active – Select the checkbox if the new tag should be available in the Neos for Word Add-in and when configuring templates during Generate with NeosAI.
Tag Name – Enter a name for the new AI Tag. This is how the tag will be displayed in the Neos for Word Add-in and the AI Generated Section when configuring your AI template (e.g., "Letter Introduction"). Tag Name is a required field. Up to 300 characters can be entered.
Tag ID – Enter the Tag ID name. This is the actual tag ID. The Tag ID field will auto-populate from the Name field, without spaces (e.g., LetterIntroduction"). Neos will automatically prepend "AI." to the beginning of the tag handle, which is viewed in the Neos for Word Add-in. Tag ID is a required field. Up to 100 characters can be entered.
Tag Categories – Select one or more categories from the AI Tag Categories Mini Directory. Assigned categories will display in the Category column within the list view, separated by commas.
Data Sources – Select the data source(s) from which NeosAI should pull Case data. This field also includes Dynamic Layouts. Data from each selected Dynamic Layout within the Case of that type will be included in the prompt when generating a document with NeosAI. Title and Date fields will be included as well as columns with data. NOTE: The AI Tag will only include nested "child" layouts if the associated Data Source is selected. For example, if the "Medical Condition" Dynamic Layout has a nested Dynamic Layout "child" of "Medication", you must select both "Medical Condition" and "Medication" for the prompt to include data from both layouts. Case Summary Data, Documents Data, and User Tabs 1-10 Data have been added as available data sources.
When Dynamic Layout data sources include metadata such as Medical Codes, the corresponding dropdown will be available to incorporate specific coding or terminology in AI-generated documents. The following is an example of the "Examination Data" data source used in a case with the available Medical Codes that have been extracted. Available Medical Codes may include: CPT, ICD10CM, UMLS, DXP, CSP, ICD10, and CCSR_ICD10PCS.
Additional Instructions – Additional details for an AI Tag can be pre-defined and, when saved, will populate the corresponding field at the time of generating a document that uses this tag.
AI Prompt – Include the instructions for how NeosAI should generate a response. AI Prompt is a required field. Up to 5,000 characters can be entered.
4. Once required fields on the Edit Tag tab have been satisfied, click the Test Tag tab where you can view an example of how this new tag will function in a particular case with a configured tone, length, and additional instructions. This will allow you to make any adjustments during the creation process, so you can ensure that all AI Tags are accurate for your firm's needs.
Configure the preview output below
Select a Case – Use the search field to locate a case to see a preview of this tag's output.
AI Content Tone – Select the tone that the AI generated preview could adhere to (Standard, Formal, Casual, Demanding, or Less Demanding).
AI Content Length – Select the length that the AI-generated preview could adhere to (Short, Medium, Long).
Parent Types – This field is displayed when one or more Dynamic Layouts have been selected from the Data Sources field on the Edit Tag tab. The dropdown will contain the parent types of the selected Dynamic Layout(s). Select one or more parent types to only include the Dynamic Layouts of the selected type(s) with a parent of the selected type(s) in the Case.
For example, let's say the "Medical Details" Dynamic Layout is used in the Case Tab and the Documents Tab. By selecting "Medical Details" in the Data Source field, the Parent Types field lets you choose the location(s) from where you want this data pulled (e.g., Case and/or Document).
The Dynamic Layout option will include all instances where the selected Data Source is used as a nested layout in any other Dynamic Layout.
If Parent Types is left blank, then all Dynamic Layouts for the selected type(s) will be included in the prompt during document generation.
Additional Instructions – Enter free text that can be used as additional prompt instructions for the AI to include, exclude, or modify.
Preview Output - Incorporates entered fields from the Edit Tag and Test Tag tabs. The Test Tag tab is not required to generate a tag preview, but it may help determine how your new tag will look in a real document. This section will adhere to the Azure AI Input Limit (approximately 4,000,000 characters or 1,500 – 2,000 pages - depending on text density). Anything over this size will be automatically truncated to fit within the limit.
5. Click Generate Tag Preview to display a sample of the new tag's output.
6. If any changes are made on the Edit Tag or Test Tag tabs, you can click Regenerate Preview to view the updated tag output.
7. When you are satisfied with the example that AI generated for this new tag, click the Save button to save your tag in the AI Tags Directory and the Neos for Word Add-in.
