Dynamic Layouts offer ultimate flexibility on how information is stored within a Case. Dynamic Layouts can be added to the current tab within a Case/Intake or as a new User Defined Tab.
NOTE: To add a dynamic layout, you must have Enabled and Add permissions to General > Dynamic Layouts.
Dynamic Layouts are customizable in the Dynamic Layout Editor, which is part of NeosAI Platinum. Interested firms should fill in this form or contact their Customer Success Manager or [email protected] for more information.
To add a customized Dynamic Layout:
Within any tab of a Case or Intake, select the Quick Add dropdown and choose the Dynamic Layout option.
Use the dropdown to select the dynamic layout to add.
Choose where to add the new dynamic layout. The current tab will be shown in blue.
To the current tab – The customized dynamic layout will be added to the bottom of the current tab. This option is currently available on the detail view of the Party Tab, Case Tab, Insurance Tab, Counsel Tab, Documents Tab, and Value Tab.
As a new tab – The customized dynamic layout will be added as a new User Defined Tab in the Case.
NOTE: If you are adding a Dynamic Layout that already exists as a tab in the Case/Intake, this option will show "To the "<Dynamic Layout Type> tab.
4. Click the Add Dynamic Layout button. The Dynamic Layout type will be added to the selected location for ONLY this Case and display in a new screen. At least one field must be entered to save the Dynamic Layout.
Alphabetic fields can auto-expand as content grows, up to a maximum of 15 visible lines, without having to scroll within the field. Use the resize icon on the bottom right of an alphabetic field to expand the height and show additional content.
NOTE: Manually expanded heights do not persist across session, i.e., when a record is re-opened, the field returns to its auto-expanded height (up to 15 lines based on content) before a scroll bar is used.
5. Once saved, a breadcrumb trail will display to the right of the back arrow showing: [the parent tab of where the Dynamic Layout has been added] – [Case Name] > [Field Name as Title]. Your current location will show in black text. To return to any prior level, click the blue text. When the left arrow is clicked, Neos will return you to the level above your current location. When the top-level is clicked, you will be taken back to the parent tab with the breadcrumb trail closed.
6. Additional entries of this Dynamic Layout can be added by clicking the breadcrumb trail to return to the parent tab and selecting the + New Entry button above the Dynamic Layout grid.
The Dynamic Layout entry grid scrolls independently of the page. The section header and the + New Entry button remain in view while the entry list scrolls.
Child entries of a Dynamic Layout parent can be accessed by clicking the caret icon to the left of each checkbox. Child entries are sorted by Date Modified with the most recently modified entry first. If only one child exists for a parent Dynamic Layout, it will automatically be expanded.
7. The same fields available on that Dynamic Layout will be shown. Refer to the Dynamic Layouts Directory for the behavior configured for each Dynamic Layout.
8. Enter corresponding field data to include those details as a new entry. Columns can be sorted by clicking the heading name.
Add Nested Dynamic Layout
Within the detail view of each Dynamic Layout entry, different Dynamic Layouts can be nested.
Click the + New Entry button from the detail view of a selected entry.
On the Add Dynamic Layout window, select the Dynamic Layout type you wish to add.
The breadcrumb trail will increase, showing the new Dynamic Layout entry.
The selected Dynamic Layout can be the same or a different one from the list. The added Dynamic Layout will be nested below the selected entry.
Double-click the entry to access the fields of that Dynamic Layout entry and see the full breadcrumb trail. As additional nested Dynamic Layouts get added, the breadcrumb trail will increase.
When one or more nested Dynamic Layout exist, the caret icon will show, allowing you to view/action (Edit or Delete) child entries.
When more than 6 nested entries exist, the overflow will display in pages.
If any field changes are made and a prior level of the breadcrumb trail is clicked or the left arrow, an Unsaved changes message will display.
Click Yes to abort your changes and navigate to the selected top-level.
Click No to stay on the current screen.
If Neos is refreshed while you are viewing a nested Dynamic Layout, you will be returned to the parent tab where the top-level layout exists. In the following example, if you are four levels deep, refreshing Neos will return you to the Case Tab.
