The Suffix Mini Directory standardizes all your common suffixes used with names your database.
NOTE: You must have Enabled, Add, Modify, and/or Delete permissions to Directories > Mini Directories as needed.
There is a column to mark whether the prefix should be used in conjunction with the suffix. For example, when using M.D. after a doctor's name, you would not want to use the prefix Dr. when listing their name. Selecting the "Show with prefix" option also affects how names will display in full name situations throughout Neos, such as on the Header in a Case or on a report, as well as when used with document generation.
When the Show with prefix column is checked, the Suffix selected in the Name Details window will display WITH the selected Prefix. When unchecked, both Prefix and Suffix can still be selected in the Name Details window but only the Prefix will display as mentioned above.
Suffixes are added in the Party or Provider Tab in the Name Details window.
To add a Suffix, click the + Add button. A blank entry will display in the first row of the grid. Double-click the Suffix field of the new entry to enter edit mode. Suffix is a required and unique field. Up to 35 characters can be entered in the Suffix field. New Suffixes are Active by default.
Advanced Search reports can be created to locate names with or without a suffix to organize your Names directory.
To delete a Suffix, click the delete icon to the far right of the entry.
Click the Yes button to delete the item if it is not in use. If it is being used, the item will be marked inactive.
Click the No button to abort the deletion.
Click the Save button to keep your changes.
