Shapes and PDF Insert Tools

This article reviews the Shapes and Insert menu functions in Neos Premium.

NOTE: Your firm must have Neos Premium and Staff must have Add permissions to the Documents Tab to save PDF edits.

Shapes

The Color Palette is available on all Shapes options.

The Undo and Redo buttons will undo or redo each last change that was made.

The Eraser button is available on all Shapes options and can remove selected shape changes.

Refer to the beginning of Editing PDFs in Neos to save all recent changes to the current PDF, as a new PDF, or to cancel all changes.

  • Rectangle – Click and drag to insert the desired size of a rectangle. Use the color palette to choose the desired rectangle color(s).

  • Ellipse – Click and drag to insert the desired size of an ellipse. Use the color palette to choose the desired ellipse color(s).

  • Arc – Click and drag to insert the desired size of an arc or curved line. Use the color palette to choose the desired arc color(s).

  • Polygon – Click and drag to insert the desired size of a polygon. Use the color palette to choose the desired polygon color(s).

  • Cloud – Click and drag to insert a scalloped/cloud-shaped line. Use the color palette to choose the desired cloud color(s).

  • Line – Click and drag to insert the desired length of a line. Use the color palette to choose the desired line color(s).

  • Polyline – Click and drag to insert a connected sequence of line segments. Use the color palette to choose the desired polyline color(s).

  • Arrow – Click and drag to insert an arrow. Use the color palette to choose the desired arrow color(s).

Insert

The Undo and Redo buttons will undo or redo each last change that was made.

The Eraser button is available on all Insert options and can remove selected inserted changes.

Refer to the beginning of Editing PDFs in Neos to save all recent changes to the current PDF, as a new PDF, or to cancel all changes.

  • Rubber Stamp Insert a standard or new stamp in the desired location of your PDF. Select the inserted stamp to insert a comment, change the opacity, create a link, delete, resize, or rotate.

Click Create New Stamp to add a custom stamp that can be used in this current session.

Enter the required Stamp Text. You can adjust the Font Style, Text Color, Background Color, Timestamp Text, and Date Format as needed.

Click the Create button when finished to add your custom stamp. The stamp will be automatically selected and can be added to your current document. Since this stamp is only available in your current Edit PDF tab, edits cannot be made; however, the stamp can be deleted and recreated.

NOTE: To use this stamp later in this or another document, you must recreate it, as it will not be added to the list of Standard Stamps.

  • Signature – Click the 'Add New Signature' button to create a new signature that can be used in this current session. Click the Clear button to remove the signature. Click Create to save your signature.

    The signature will be automatically selected and can be added to your current document. Since this signature is only available in your current Edit PDF tab, edits cannot be made; however, the signature can be deleted and recreated.

    Draw – Choose black, blue, or red to freehand your signature in the Draw Signature box.

    Type – Choose black, blue, or red to type your signature in the Type Signature box.

    Upload – Drag and drop or choose an image with your signature to upload.

Use the mouse to position the new signature within your PDF. Select the inserted signature to insert a comment, change opacity, create a link, delete, resize, or rotate.

Click the trash can icon to delete a saved signature or click New Signature to add a new signature.

NOTE: To use this signature later in this or another document, you must recreate it, as it will not be added to the Signature List.

  • File Attachment – Inserts a file from your computer into your PDF. Click the location of your PDF to display the Open window to browse for All Files. The attachment will display as a paperclip icon

    that can be downloaded by double-clicking or by selecting the 'Download attached file' icon when the paperclip is selected. The paperclip icon can also have a comment, color and opacity changes, be deleted, or linked to a URL.

  • Image Inserts an image from your computer into your PDF. Click the location of your PDF to display the Open window to browse for images. Select the inserted image to insert a comment, change the opacity, delete, create a link, resize, or rotate.
