Document types are used for categorizing Case/Intake and Provider Folder documents on the Documents Tab. When a document is assigned a Document Type, it is saved in that folder within your firm's SharePoint. Due to this robust feature, Document Type is now its own Directory within Settings, making it more accessible in Neos.
NOTE: You must have Enabled permissions to Case > Documents Tab and Provider > Documents Tab to access the Document Type Directory.
To access the Document Type Directory:
Click the Settings icon from the left navigation pane.
Select the Document Types button from the Directory Editors group.
The Document Type Directory will open to a list view, showing Name, Description, Active, and Fields columns.
The Fields column displays the number of fields that have been configured for a document type.
Select a document type from the list to open the detail view and secondary navigation pane.
General Tab
The General Tab contains field options:
Name – This name will display in the Documents Tab of a Case/Intake or Provider.
Description – The description will display in the list view of the Document Type Directory.
Active – When selected, the Document Type will display in dropdowns.
Label Color – The color selected from the color picker will display for documents that have this type.
Document Types can be added, deleted, and linked with Document Categories.
A new Fields section has been added at the bottom of the General Tab for standard fields by Document Type category.
Fields
Standard fields can now be added to document types. Each document type can be customized with standard additional fields to allow for better document management, providing your staff with more options to organize, filter, and categorize documents.
To add standard fields:
Select the Document Type from the list view.
On the General Tab, click the Edit Fields button.
Use the dropdown on the window to choose the type of fields you wish to add to this Document Type. Only one category can be selected. Click the Save button.
NOTE: Refer to Document Type Standard Fields for the list of standard fields with each standard Document Type category.
The standard fields associated with the selected category will display in the Fields grid. These standard fields cannot be modified or deleted individually.
Remove All Standard Fields
Standard fields can be removed from a Document Type by selecting the Edit Fields button and clicking the X to clear the select field. Click Save to keep your changes. All fields from that category will be removed from the Fields section. Click the Save button on the Document Type screen to keep your changes.
