User Defined Tabs display customized screens that are defined in the Case Type Directory – Tab Setup Tab. User Defined Tabs are typically used to capture specific Case information by Case Type that does not exist on any of the standard tabs. User Defined Tabs can be List/Entry (1-5) or Entry (6-10). User defined fields can be added to the Party, Case, Insurance, Counsel, and Value standard tabs. Refer to Tab Setup Tab for more details about configuring User Defined Tabs.
NOTE: You must have at least Enabled permissions to Case > User Tab List/Entry 1-5 tabs and/or User Tab Entry 6-10 tabs.
To customize user defined screens in the Layout Manager, you must have the proper permissions to Directories > User Defined Screens. If accessing the Layout Manager from the Case Types Directory (Edit button), you must also have Modify permissions to Directories > Case Type.
To make a User Defined Tab visible in a Case, click the Active check box for a specific tab. To customize a User Defined Tab name, double-click the Title field for a specific tab to enter edit mode. To customize User Defined Tab screens in the Layout Manager, click the Edit button.
A Value item can be created from any User Defined Tab (1-10) using the Action menu in the entry screen.
List/Entry Tabs (1-5)
User Defined List/Entry Tabs display a list view of all saved entries. New items can be added on a blank entry screen by clicking the + Add button. Click the X icon to return to the list view. Click the navigation arrows to cycle through entries.
Columns can be added/removed by clicking the Columns button to the right of the grid in the list view. Available columns are dependent upon the User Defined Tab. Inserted columns can be rearranged and can be used to sort entries (ascending/descending).
Bulk Actions
From the list view of List/Entry Tabs, bulk actions can be performed. Select one or more entries using the checkbox and click the Bulk Actions menu to Copy to Other Cases, Move to Other Cases, Delete, or Edit the selected items.
Entry Tabs (6-10)
User Defined Entry Tabs display a static entry screen. Data is entered into the corresponding fields and saved on one screen.
