Accessing Permission Groups

The Permission Groups Directory allows you to set the desired permissions for all staff within a group. The group's active staff can be given a particular set of rights in which to access the different areas of Neos as well as specific features or functions. While staff may be used in multiple permission groups, the group with the highest level for a specific Neos function will override the other groups from which that staff is a member. However, individual Staff Permissions will always override any group-level permissions. The only exception is when using the Other Permissions tab, which will grant the most restrictive access.

It is recommended that permissions are granted for a set of staff with Permission Groups and then, if needed, particular alterations can be made to each individual staff. Refer to Staff Permissions for details on assigning individual staff permissions.

To access Permission Groups:

  1. Click the Settings icon from the left navigation pane.

  2. Scroll down to the Staff section and select Permission Groups.

NOTE: You must have at least Enabled permissions to Directories > Permission Groups.

The Permissions Groups tab will display the list of permission groups on the left. Select a Group Name to display the associated permissions on the right. Permission Groups can be added or deleted from the left side.

The associated permission tabs for a selected Group Name contain the Staff Members, Group General Permissions, Group Special Permissions, and Other Permissions.

The total number of Staff associated with the selected Permission Group is noted to the permission group name in the right pane. Staff members can be added or removed from the Staff Members heading.

Exclusions to Case Types, Report Categories, and Case numbers can be set for everyone in the selected group using the Other Permissions heading.

Permissions can be quickly searched using the Search field.

Permissions are collapsed by default but can be easily expanded using the Expand all button. Click the Collapse all to collapse all permissions.

The permission header, including tabs, search, and permissions key, is anchored to the top of the page when scrolling through the General or Special Permissions.
