The Dynamic Layouts Directory allows firms to customize the list of entities in Neos. All firms have access to the Dynamic Layouts Directory, however, without NeosAI Platinum, layouts cannot be added or customized in the Dynamic Layout Editor.
NOTE: You must have Enabled, Add, Modify, and/or Delete permissions to Directories > Mini Directories as needed.
NOTE: For the ability to create and customize Dynamic Layouts firms must have NeosAI Platinum. Interested firms should fill in this form or contact their Customer Success Manager or [email protected] for more information.
To access the Dynamic Layouts Directory:
Navigate to Settings.
Select the "Dynamic Layouts " directory within the Directory Editors section.
Dynamic Layouts are listed alphabetically. Neos contains standard Dynamic Layouts that cannot be modified or deleted. Standard Dynamic Layout are noted with an
icon and a disabled delete button. Refer to Standard Dynamic Layouts & Columns for the full list.
Name – Displays the dynamic layout name. Layouts are configurable within the Dynamic Layout Editor.
Behavior – Determines the handling process when tabs are added to a case.
• Auto (Flat or List) – Chooses the best format. If only one record exists, it will be changed to a flat (entry) tab. If additional records are added, it will be changed to a list (list/entry) tab.
• Always List – Displays a list of the layouts attached to a case (similar layout as the User Defined List/Entry Tabs 1-5).
• Always Flat – Displays multiple tabs, one for each form (similar layout as the User Defined Entry Tabs 6-10).
Active – When checked, active Dynamic Layouts can be selected in the Dynamic Layout Editor.
To add a new Dynamic Layout, click the + Add button. NOTE: The Add button will be disabled if your firm does not have NeosAI Platinum.
A new Dynamic Layout tab will display. Add the Name (required and unique). Up to 255 characters can be entered in the Name field. Select the Behavior and Active status.
Columns
The Columns section (on the General Tab) displays a list of all fields available within each Dynamic Layout Editor. Click and drag to reorder columns using the six-dot icon to the left of the Field Name. Column order changes will be automatically saved and updated in each Case that uses this Dynamic Layout. Fields will not be reordered in the Dynamic Layout Editor.
If a column has been reordered in the Dynamic Layout Editor, it will not be modified here in the Dynamic Layout Directory if the list of columns has already been manually configured. Otherwise, fields that are added, modified, or deleted in the Dynamic Layout Editor will automatically update the new order of fields in the Dynamic Layout Directory.
Columns can be shown or hidden using the Display as Column? slider. By default, the first 8 fields will be enabled as columns, with Date Created and Date Modified also enabled. Layouts that have fewer than 8 fields will automatically include Staff Created and Staff Modified as enabled columns.
NOTE: If all columns are toggled off OR more than 10 columns are toggled on, changes cannot be saved.
The Use as Title and Use as Date columns allow you to specify which fields within a Dynamic Layout are used as the title and date columns shown in the Dynamic Layouts tab of the Case. By default, the Title column will be the first available field of the following types:
Alphabetic
Name/Contact
Contact
Mini Directory (Note Topic, Value Code, etc.)
User Mini Directory
Enum (Gender, Yes/No, etc.)
Staff
Address
Phone Number
Email
All Fields from the Dynamic Layout Editor allow data to be interactable, e.g., click to dial phone numbers, SMS, and send email.
Click the Reset Columns button to reset the list of columns to the order within the Dynamic Layout Editor.
Click Yes to reset the list of columns for the selected Dynamic Layout. The Columns section will reset to the order in the Dynamic Layout Editor. This will include the first 8 fields in the layout editor and "Date Created" and "Date Modified".
Click No to abort the column reset.
To delete a Dynamic Layout, click the trash can icon for that type. If the dynamic layout is in use, it cannot be deleted but will be marked inactive from future selection.
NOTE: Deleting a Dynamic Layout will also delete the associated sections that were configured in the Dynamic Layout Editor.
From within the Dynamic Layout Directory, you can access the Dynamic Layout Editor for that selected Layout. This requires the NeosAI Platinum offering.
