Subgroups can be created in Advanced Search groups or Collections to build more complex, layered search conditions that utilize And and Or scenarios.
To create a subgroup in Advanced Search:
Within Advanced Search, click the Add… button on the top right of the group.
A subgroup is added within the selected group or collection with a new filter available. Up to two subgroup levels can be added (shown below) and will no longer show the Add…
icon within the added Subgroup.
NOTE: Any number of Subgroups can be added below the top-level group. [screenshot]
Additional filters can be added by clicking the + button within the subgroup.
NOTE: If a subgroup has two filters, the And or OR options will be available to choose from; any additional filters added will use the same operator and be locked.
To remove groups or subgroups, each filter within the group must be deleted using the trash can icon.
When satisfied, click Run Search. Using the example below, the results will show cases that with Case Types of MVA and not closed, and either the Attorney = Alex OR the Paralegal = Seth.
