When Generating Documents with NeosAI, users can choose templates that already have AI tags (using the Word Online Add-in) or configure templates on the fly. Configured templates can be saved and applied the next time that template is used by anyone at your firm. If your selected template does not contain any AI tags, you must select the Configure Template button to insert custom sections to proceed with the Generate with NeosAI feature.
On the Fill in templates step within the Generate Documents wizard, select the Configure Template button.
Neos will scan your template and locate existing AI tags.
Add AI Sections
If the template you selected does NOT contain AI tags, you will be prompted to configure them within the Generate Documents wizard.
Click the Configure Template button and select + Add Section.
Custom sections will be inserted and can be renamed by double-clicking the section title to enter edit mode.
Use the AI Generated Section dropdown to select the appropriate AI tag for this section. A single AI tag must be selected per unique section, however, the same AI tag can be used in other sections. The AI tags from this dropdown are the same AI tags available in the Word Online Add-in. When adding custom sections, the Action field will be blank.
As custom sections are added, they can be rearranged within your document before generation is complete using the hand icon to the left of each section.
Template configuration changes made in this window can be saved the next time this template is used for AI generation by clicking the checkbox on the bottom left. However, no changes are made to your template file. When selected, this template will be automatically flagged as "AI ready" in the Choose your templates step.
All custom sections added will be appended to the end of your document using the title set in the Section in Template column (e.g., "Settlement Agreement" will be added as a heading to my generated document with the AI-generated output for the "Settlement Agreement Introduction" tag).
Custom sections can be deleted by clicking the trash can icon to the right of the AI Generated Section. Click Yes to confirm your intention.
Click the Save button. You will be returned to the Fill in templates section where your selected template is now ready for AI. Click Next to progress to the Review content AI step.
Refer to Generate Documents with AI to generate AI for each section.
Modify AI Sections
If your selected template contains at least one AI tag, it will be ready for AI. However, your template can be configured to add new sections or modify existing sections.
Click the Configure Template button. The AI tags that currently exist in your template will be shown at the top (see below outlined in red). These cannot be modified and will be utilized during the document generation process.
If your template contains sections with a Heading style, they will be parsed by Neos and shown in the order they appear in your template (see below outlined in blue). These parsed headings are optional. If you wish to include additional AI tags, select the Action and associated AI Generated Section (AI Tag). If no changes are needed, you can leave these fields blank.
Check the Navigations pane in your template to ensure that section headings are located under the Headings tab.
Neos provides greater control over the content within these section headings. In the Action dropdown, choose between the following options.
Replace With – Existing text in the section will be removed and the AI generated text inserted.
Append With – AI generated text will be inserted after the existing text in the section, after a new line and before the next section heading parsed.
Prepand With – AI generated text will be inserted before the existing text in the section, in between the section heading parsed and the existing text, with a new line after the generated text.
Remove – The AI Generated Section will be disabled. Existing text in the section will be removed.
Do Nothing – The AI Generated Section will be disabled. Nothing will happen in this section.
When Replace With, Append With, or Prepand With are selected, choose the desired AI tag for each section. This is a required field for these actions.
Custom sections can also be added. Refer to Add AI Sections above for more details.
