Reactivating Staff Emails with Office 365

A staff's email that was previously connected with Office 365 in Neos may need to be reconnected due to a password change, automatic logout from inactivity, or a manual disconnection on the Staff Profile.

NOTE: If your firm has enabled multifactor authentication (MFA) for Microsoft 365, staff emails will need to be reactivated in Neos.

This article reviews the process for reactivating staff emails. When a staff's email is not connected to Office 365, the user will see a blank Calendar in Neos and will be prohibited from sending texts and emails from Neos.

To reactivate staff emails with Office 365:

  1. Open a new incognito browser (crucial for preventing accidental login to another user's account).

  2. Log in to Neos, as the administrator or as an individual staff with Modify permissions to the Staff Directory.

  3. Navigate to Staff Profiles and select the staff to reactivate.

  4. Click their Staff Profile tab and scroll to the User Account Details section.

  5. You may see a Lost Connection to Office365 button or a Not Connected button.

  6. Click the visible button to display the Connect Office365 Account window.

  7. Select the Continue button to sign in to the Office 365 account for this email. A separate Microsoft login window will display with the Staff's email pre-populated, as saved in the Staff Profile Tab. Enter their password and click Sign in. You may be prompted to verify your identity using Text or Call. You may choose to stay signed in to Office 365 by clicking Yes or No. When either option has been selected, the window will automatically close and you will be returned to Neos.

NOTE: If the following error appears, you may not have permission to grant admin consent to connect your 365 to Neos. Refer to these Microsoft articles to Configure the admin consent workflow and Review and take action on admin consent requests.

  8. The Staff Profile tab is automatically saved (if no other changes exist). You should see the following change in the User Account Details section.

The staff's email is now successfully connected with Office 365 and Neos. Close any open Neos tabs (e.g., Calendar) and reopen them for full functionality based on their Staff Permissions.
