After a document has been tagged and saved in Microsoft Word, it must be added to the Template Setup in order to be used in the Neos Document Generation process.
NOTE: You must have Add permissions to Directories > Templates.
To add a coded document to Neos:
From the Template Setup list view, click the + Add button above the grid.
Enter the following details on the Add template window:
Template Name – Type the name of the document you wish to add. The file name from the Template Source field will populate the Template Name field (if the field is blank). You may decide to revise the name (e.g., Template Source shows "Review Us – Template.docx" and you revise the Template Name, so the extension (.docx) is not shown as the Document Title). Template Name is a required field.
Document Type – Use the dropdown to specify the type, as defined in the Document Type Directory.
Template Category – Use the dropdown to specify the category, as defined in the Merge Document Categories Mini Directory.
Template Source – Click into the field to display your browser's Open file window. Locate the file you wish to add and click the Open button or double-click the file.
Template Type – Use the dropdown to assign the type of template: Case, Intake, or Name. When Intake is selected, a Document Options field will display. This field is optional and allows you to choose how the Intake template will be used (Referral, Rejection, or Retainer). Documents can be generated from an Intake Template on the Documents Tab of an Intake.
NOTE: To send a referral, rejection, or retainer letter from the Actions menu of an Intake, your firm must be a NeosAI Platinum subscriber.
Active – New templates added to the Template Setup are set to Active as the default. Refer to Accessing Template Setup for more details.
3. Click the Save button to insert the coded template as an entry in the Template Setup and upload to your firm's SharePoint. The added template is saved to the Templates root drive within your firm's SharePoint, as specified in Firm Preferences > Documents.
NOTE: The template must remain in your firm's TemplateFiles folder (or other mapped location in Firm Preferences > Documents Tab) in order to be generated. If the template gets deleted/ placed in the Recycle bin folder in SharePoint, you will receive an error message when attempting to generate a document from this template.
4. A success message will display when complete.
