Customizing Dynamic Layout Design

This article describes the customization options available within the Dynamic Layout Editor.

Customize Standard Dynamic Layout

While customizing a standard dynamic layout, you may wish to return to the standard fields without having to remove or add fields manually in the editor. To return to the default layout for any standard dynamic layout, click the Reset Layout button.

Click Yes on the Reset Layout warning. The Dynamic Layout Editor will refresh, reverting the layout to the fields defined for the standard dynamic layout.

To create a new row in the current section, drag and drop the existing field into the bottom row. Fields can be placed up to three in a row.

To remove an existing Case field from a section, hover over the field and click the trash can icon. The field will be removed without warning. Click the Save button to keep your changes.

[Confirm your selection on the Delete Field? warning message. Any existing data from that field will be hidden, however, if the same field is added, the original data will return.]

If the removed field is the last remaining item in a section, you will be instructed to remove the blank section.

User Defined Case Fields are added to the bottom of the selection Section in the Dynamic Layout Editor design screen and can be reordered using the hand icon

or the four arrows icon

.

The desired section in the Dynamic Layout Editor design screen will collapse, allowing you to drag/drop to a new location.

Field Settings

Field Settings are available on User Defined Case Fields added to the Dynamic Layout Editor design screen.

  • The Label cannot be modified, as changes can only be made in the User Defined Case Fields Directory.

  • The Required Field slider allows the selected Case field to be required before changes can be saved when adding Dynamic Layout on the Related Items tab of a document.

Click the Save button to save your changes.
