Adding a Companion Group (Case)

New companion groups can be created using the Companion Groups Directory as well as directly from the Companion Cases tab in a Case Folder. From the Companion Cases Tab, you can add the current Case to existing companion groups and also create new companion groups in which to associate a Case.

Adding an Existing Group

To add an existing companion group:

  1. While on the Companion Cases Tab in a Case Folder, click the + Add button under the Groups pane.

  2. On the Select Companion Case Groups window, select one of the existing groups from the Groups pane. The members of that group will display in the Group Members pane.

  3. Click the Save button to add the selected companion group into the Groups pane of the Companion Cases tab. The current Case will be added as a member to the selected group. All case members, including the current Case will be listed in the Group Members grid.

  4. The Companion Cases Tab will be automatically saved.

Adding a New Companion Group

If none of the existing Companion Groups fit your present needs, you may want to create a new group. This can be done directly from the Companion Cases Tab.

To create a new companion group:

  1. While on the Companion Cases Tab in a Case Folder, click the + Add button under the Groups pane.

  2. On the Select Companion Case Groups window, enter a unique group name into the Enter a New Group Name text field above the Groups pane. Click the add icon or hit ENTER to create the new companion group. The group will be added to the bottom of the Groups list.

If a group name is entered that already exists, you will see the following warning message. Click the Close button to return to the Companion Case Groups window.

  3. Select the new companion group from the list and click the Save button to add the current Case to the new companion group. The Companion Cases Tab will be automatically saved.

NOTE: The new group will not be saved if the Cancel button is clicked on the Select Companion Case Group window.

Refer to Adding a Case to a Companion Group for adding other cases to companion groups where the current case is a member.
