This article reviews column options within grids, tabs, and the secondary navigation pane.
Columns
Neos uses grids to display lists of information. Many grids inside Neos now contain darker divider lines between each column title to more easily access the cursor for changing column size. NOTE: These darker grid lines are not available on grids that have the Columns button vertically affixed on the right side, such as Checklist and Insurance.
Columns within most grids can be added, removed, or rearranged using the kebab menu in the grid column heading. There are some grids that still utilize the Columns button to the right of a grid, such as the Insurance Tab list view.
When accessing columns from the kebab menu, you also have the ability to autofit all columns or just the current column and sort ascending or descending.
When accessing columns from the
Columns icon, a window of all the possible columns for the current grid will display (columns will vary based on your current view, e.g., Insurance Tab vs. Police Tab).
Columns can be added by selecting a check box. To remove a column, deselect the check box. Column changes will be immediately reflected in the grid.
Using the Columns icon, a column can be quickly found by typing the name into the Search field. Click the
icon to the left of the Search field to insert all excluded columns into the grid. Click the
icon to the left of the Search field to remove all columns from the grid. Click the
icon to the left of the Search field to reinsert all columns into the grid. You may also hover over the
icon of a column until the hand displays to drag/drop and rearrange columns as needed.
Columns inserted and rearranged within a grid where the standard or elective tab is the SAME across different Case Types (e.g., Party, Checklist, etc.) will automatically be saved throughout Neos on your device. Grid changes on User Defined Tabs are saved only for the current Case Type. In other words, if column changes are made on the 'Record Requests Tab' in an MVA case, they will not transfer to the 'Info Requests Tab' in a BKC case, even though they are both User Tab List/Entry 2 Tabs.
Column grid sorting in Case Folder tabs is now automatically saved. To sort a grid column, click the column heading once to sort in ascending order
or twice to sort in descending order
.
Columns can also be rearranged by selecting a column heading within the grid until the drag anchor displays.
As you move columns within a grid, you will notice the column heading icon changes.
A column can be pinned to the beginning or end of the columns when the pin icon is displayed. When a column is pinned, it will show in the dropped position offset by a vertical line.
(no icon before column title) When the column is dragged to an area of the screen where it cannot be placed.
Click the
Columns icon to close the flyout window. When accessing columns via the kebab menu, click anywhere outside of the popup to close the window.
Tabs
When many tabs are open, scrolling horizontally in Neos, will allow users to scroll horizontally through all open tabs.
Some tabs display distinguishable icons to the left of the tab name. These include:
Neos Today:
Case:
Intake:
Provider:
Calendar:
Communications Center:
Message Details:
Accounting:
Staff Profile:
A single tab can be closed by clicking the X. A down arrow is always displayed on the header in the top right. Click the arrow to display a list of all open tabs. The current tab will be bolded.
Select a different tab name to navigate to that tab (helpful when many tabs are open) or click the Close All Tabs text to close all open tabs. You will be returned to the My Dashboards screen.
Up to 30 tabs can be opened at one time in Neos. The following message will appear when you attempt to open additional tabs.
Click Cancel to close the window and return to your list of 30 tabs.
Click Quit least recently used to automatically close the earliest open tab.
NOTE: When closing open tabs, you will be prompted to save any unsaved changes. For example, closing cases with timers will prompt the Delete Timers warning.
Unsaved Changes Protection
Neos protects unsaved work by displaying a browser-level "Leave site?" confirmation message when you attempt to navigate away from a page with unsaved changes. This window appears when you close the browser tab, type a new URL, or press F5, Ctrl + R, or the browser refresh button while an Intake or Case has unsaved changes.
NOTE: These windows are displayed from your browser, so the exact button labels may vary.
Close Browser Tab
Attempting to close the browser tab or typing in another URL will display the Leave site? message. This is especially helpful when creating a new Note but auto-save has not been triggered because the required fields have not yet been entered.
Click Cancel to remain on the page with your changes intact.
Click Leave to close the tab and discard your unsaved changes.
Refresh Browser Tab
Attempting to refresh Neos via F5, Ctrl + R, or the browser refresh button will display the Reload site? message.
Click Cancel to remain on the page with your changes intact.
Click Reload to close the tab and discard your unsaved changes.
Navigation
Some areas in Neos have a secondary navigation pane that can be pinned to easily access the navigation options. This feature is available within Case Folder, Provider Card, Intakes, Messages, and Case Types. Automatic resizing of grids has been improved when the navigation pane is collapsed.
When pinned, the secondary navigation pane is always displayed with the arrow pointing left.
When the secondary navigation pane is not pinned, the arrow will point to the right.
To view the hidden pane, simply hover over the left edge near the arrow icon. When you move away from the secondary navigation pane, it will be hidden again.
