One of the most powerful features of Neos is the ability to create customized screens for each case type, as well as for Providers and Documents, that are pertinent to your firm and the jurisdictions in which you practice. User defined fields can be created on user defined screens within the Layout Manager, viewable in the user defined section of most Case tabs, such as Party, Case, Counsel, Insurance, and Value.
Different user defined screens can be created for each Party Role, Insurance Type, or Value Code for the corresponding tab. In addition, up to ten user defined list/entry tabs can be created for a particular case type. User List/Entry Tabs 1-5 are used to track multiple instances of the same information, such as when tracking records requests. User Entry tabs 6-10 are flat, single entry screens that are useful for grouping important information into one location for quick access. For example, entering all the information relating to an automobile accident in a personal injury case. Intake is another user defined tab available in each case type.
NOTE: You must have at least Enabled permissions for User Defined Screens to access the Layout Manager.
As with many other areas of Neos, it is recommended to access the Layout Manager via your standard, acceptable browser (not incognito).
The Layout Manager can be accessed from the list of Case Types or from Settings.
Select an entity type to begin customizing Case or Provider user defined tabs.
When first creating a user defined screen, you must choose to either copy from an existing tab of a different case type or begin from scratch with the default screen. [screenshot]
On the Copy screen message,
Click the No button to start from a blank screen.
Click the Yes button to copy the fields and sections from the same tab of another case type.
When the Yes button is clicked, the Copy screen definition window will display a list of Case Types and descriptions where a user defined screen exists.
Select the Case Type where you wish to copy sections and fields and click the Save button. The fields from the tab of the selected Case Type will be copied to the design layout screen of the current Case Type and tab.
