Create Tag Lists in Word
To create a list of multiple items from a list tab or other area of Neos, such as Value items, where there is more than one item, use the List function to bring in the data from the Neos database in a table format.
NOTE: To create tag lists, you must have the Neos for Word Add-in installed. Once installed, the add-in can be used in Word Online or Word Desktop. For a better Word formatting experience and advanced document coding, it is recommended to use the add-in in Word Desktop.
Click the Insert ribbon in Word.
Select the List button in the Neos group. The Insert List pane will display on the right.
Select the Merge Type and Category fields, as mentioned in Inserting Tags. The Category field will contain options when there are multiple items. For example, when the Case Merge Type is selected, the Category field will display a list of active List Tabs in Neos.
Search or scroll to find the desired tag. Double-click the tag to insert it into the List below or click the Add icon
to insert it into the List below that will make up the columns in the list rows. The example below shows Case Value items with the Medical Value Code.
Continue selecting the tags for each column in your list table.
Use the arrow buttons
to change the order of tags.
Click the Add
or Delete
buttons to add to remove tags from the list.
To insert the List into the template in the location of your cursor, click the Insert List button. The inserted list will look similar to the example below.
[[ LIST | Value | Case.ValueItems.Provider.FullNameFirstLast, Case.ValueItems.StartDate, Case.ValueItems.StopDate, Case.ValueItems.TotalAmount | MEDICAL ]]
Once the document is generated, it will display the data in a table. To add the sum of all listed value totals, an additional calculation is required. It is best to create the formula in Word Desktop and make any additional adjustments as needed.
To add the SUM in Word Desktop:
Right-click the table and select Insert > Insert Rows Below.
Put your cursor in the field of the new row that should contain the SUM formula.
Select the Layout ribbon in Word (should be next to Table Design), then Formula.
On the Formula window, enter =SUM(ABOVE) and click OK.
The Value items should now be totaled in the new row.
NOTE: By default, the table generates in a gray and white design. Using the Table Design ribbon, you may change the Table Style as needed.
Items in the generated table can be sorted in Word Online and Desktop.
