This article reviews the Forms menu options in the PDF Editor.
NOTE: Your firm must have Neos Premium and Staff must have Add permissions to the Documents Tab to save PDF edits.
Refer to the beginning of Editing PDFs in Neos to save all recent changes to the current PDF, as a new PDF, or to cancel all changes.
Signature Field
Inserts a signature form field into the desired location of your PDF.
Once inserted, refer to Shapes and PDF Insert Tools for details about adding a signature. The signature will be inserted into the Signature form field.
Refer to the side pane below for customization options. Click Close when complete.
Field Name – Enter the name of this field. This is required to apply this field to your PDF.
Properties – Select the corresponding checkboxes if this signature field should be Read Only (signature cannot be edited), Required (signature must be added) and/or Include Field Indicator (customizable flag to the left of the page).
Field Size – Update the width and height of the form field to see it change in real-time.
Click the inserted signature form field to change the signature field color and stroke, edit the form field, or delete it. Use the color palette to choose the desired signature color(s). Click Save to make the fields fillable.
Text Field
Inserts a text form field into the desired location of your PDF.
These fields can be added to PDF templates and uploaded to the Template Setup, where you can then assign a Merge Field to data in Neos, for use with Document Generation.
Refer to the side pane below for customization options. Click Close when complete.
Field Name – Enter the name of this field. This is required to apply this field to your PDF.
Default Value – (Optional) Enter the default text that should display in this form field.
Properties – Select the corresponding checkboxes if this text field should be Read Only (text cannot be edited), Required (text must be entered), Multiline (text will be wrapped to the next line), and/or Include Field Indicator (customizable flag to the left of the page).
Field Size – Update the width and height of the form field to see it change in real time.
Click the inserted text form field to change the text color, size, stroke, and fill, edit the form field, or delete it. Use the color palette to choose the desired text color(s). Click Save to make the fields fillable.
Checkbox Field
Click and drag to insert the desired size of a checkbox field into your PDF.
Refer to the side pane below for customization options. Click Close when complete.
Field Name – Enter the name of this field. This is required to apply this field to your PDF.
Properties – Select the corresponding checkboxes if this checkbox field should be Read Only (checkbox cannot be edited), Required (checkbox must be selected), and/or Include Field Indicator (customizable flag to the left of the page).
Field Size – Update the width and height of the form field to see it change in real time.
Click the inserted checkbox form field to edit the form field or delete it. Click Save to make the fields fillable.
Within the View Tab, click the field to insert or remove a checkbox.
Radio Button Field
Click and drag to insert the desired size of a radio button field into your PDF.
Refer to the side pane below for customization options. Click Close when complete.
Field Name – Neos will enter the default name, however, radio buttons of the same group can use the same Field Name.
Properties – Select the corresponding checkboxes if this radio button field should be Read Only (radio button cannot be edited), Required (radio button must be selected), and/or Include Field Indicator (customizable flag to the left of the page).
Field Size – Update the width and height of the form field to see it change in real time.
Click the inserted checkbox form field to edit the form field or delete it. Click Save to make the fields fillable.
Within the View Tab, click the field to insert or remove the radio button.
List Box Field
Inserts a list box form field into the desired location of your PDF.
Refer to the side pane below for customization options. Click Close when complete.
Field Name – Enter the name of this field. This is required to apply this field to your PDF.
Options – Add options that should display in the list box. Click + Add Option or the Enter key to additional items. Click the 6-dots button to reorder the options.
Properties – Select the corresponding checkboxes if this list box field should be Read Only (options cannot be edited), Required (at least one option must be selected), Multi Select (select one or more options), and/or Include Field Indicator (customizable flag to the left of the page).
Field Size – Update the width and height of the form field to see it change in real time.
Click the inserted list box form field to change the text, stroke, and fill color, edit the form field, or delete it. Use the color palette to choose the desired list box color(s). Click Save to make the fields fillable.
Within the View Tab, click the field to select the desired option(s). This form field has the option for multiple selection.
Combo Box Field
Inserts a combo box form field into the desired location of your PDF.
Refer to the side pane below for customization options. Click Close when complete.
Field Name – Enter the name of this field. This is required to apply this field to your PDF.
Options – Add options that should display in the combo box. Click + Add Option or the Enter key to additional items. Click the 6-dots button to reorder the options.
Properties – Select the corresponding checkboxes if this list box field should be Read Only (options cannot be edited), Required (at least one option must be selected), and/or Include Field Indicator (customizable flag to the left of the page).
Field Size – Update the width and height of the form field to see it change in real time.
Click the inserted list box form field to change the text, stroke, and fill color, edit the form field, or delete it. Use the color palette to choose the desired list box color(s). Click Close to make the fields fillable.
Within the View Tab, select the desired option from the dropdown. This form field can only be single-selected.
