Adding an Auxiliary Checklist

The Auxiliary Checklist contains checklist items that are not necessarily relevant for all cases. They are therefore added in an as-needed basis; several Auxiliary Checklist titles can be added to a Case Checklist. Unlike standard checklists, Auxiliary Checklists are not selected by Case Type. The appropriate checklist is manually selected when the + Auxiliary Checklist button is clicked on the Checklist tab.

NOTE: You must have Add permissions to Case > Checklist Tab.

To add an Auxiliary Checklist to a Case,

  1. In the Checklist tab, click the + Auxiliary Checklist button above the grid.

  2. The Select Auxiliary Checklist window will display all active Auxiliary Checklist titles and Litigation status from the Auxiliary Checklist Directory. The Title and Litigation status cannot be changed.

  3. Use the filter row to locate Auxiliary Checklists by Title using free text and Contains, Not Contains, Equal, Not Equal, Starts with, and Ends with. The Litigation column can also be filtered by status (Select All, True, and False).

  4. Select the desired checklist title and click the Save button to insert all active checklist items from the selected Auxiliary title into the Case Checklist tab.

NOTE: Auxiliary Checklist items with a Ref date that is blank will NOT be inserted into the Case until the Ref date is populated.

  5. A warning message regarding staff roles and case date references will display. Since Auxiliary Checklist items are not based on a Case Type, the Staff Roles and Case Date labels may not exist in the current case. If these do not exist, the Primary Staff Role and a reference date of "MAN" (manual) will be assigned.

  • Click the Yes button to proceed, allowing Neos to make these adjustments, as needed.

  • Click the No button to abort the Auxiliary Checklist insertion.

6. If the selected Auxiliary Checklist title has already been inserted into the case, a duplicate warning message will display when the Yes button is clicked.

  • Click the Yes button to add the Auxiliary Checklist title and thereby create duplicates of items that already exist in the Case Checklist tab.

  • Click the No button to abort the Auxiliary Checklist insertion.

7. When the Yes button is clicked on the duplicate warning message or if the Auxiliary Checklist title has not previously been inserted, a confirmation message will display when the process is complete.

8. Click the Close button to filter the items within the Case Checklist tab grid. You may modify fields, if desired.

9. Click the Refresh Checklist button to update the Checklist tab with your changes.

Once an Auxiliary Checklist title has been added to the Case Checklist tab, all items within that title can be individually added using the + Add button.
