When the PDF Editor icon is clicked on the document Preview Pane for a PDF, the Edit PDF tab will display in Neos. Various modifications can be performed on the current PDF including view, annotate, shapes, insert, redact, fill and sign, and forms.
NOTE: Staff must have Add permissions to the Documents Tab in Case and/or Provider to save PDF edits in the respective location.

The Edit PDF tab will open with the Edit menu option selected as the default. Some of these options will look familiar from the enhanced preview pane. Multiple Edit PDF tabs can be opened at one time.
The following options in the upper right corner are always available in the Edit PDF tab.
Add Document – Adds all pages of one or more selected PDFs into your current PDF. The Add Document window defaults to PDF files within the current Case. Unchecking the "Search Case Documents Only" checkbox will expand the list to all PDF documents from Browse Documents. Documents can be filtered by Type, Category, and Tags. To add a document that does not yet exist in Neos, click the Upload File button to select a file from your local device.
Close – Cancel all changes and close the Edit PDF tab.
Save As – Saves all changes as a new PDF. Complete the following fields.
New file name - The current file name will be populated by default.
Choose one of the following radio buttons in which to save this document.
Case - The current Case/Intake number is listed by default.
Companion Case - Shows a dropdown of linked cases and case titles.
Provider – Search by Provider name.
NOTE: To save the document in the current case AND companion case(s), select the Companion Case radio button and choose the desired case(s).
Select the Document Type and Document Category. If a Type and/or Category already exists, it will be shown by default.
Select the Flatten PDF toggle to flatten the file. Flattening a PDF creates a static copy of the PDF where all annotations are now part of the PDF, like the existing text or images in the document.
Click Save to save the new PDF in your selected location.
NOTE: Flattening cannot be undone, however, you can revert to previous versions if needed.
Save – Save all changes to the current PDF. The preview will show with this updated version by default. Utilize Version History to open or revert to previous versions.
Edit
Edit is the default selection when opening the inline PDF editor. The following options are included in the Edit menu.
Left Panel – Displays thumbnails of all pages within the PDF. Use the zoom bar to increase or decrease the view size of all pages. Select a page to change the orientation, delete, or for more options. Hit the Ctrl key to multi-select. The Left Panel is closed by default but can be opened by clicking
.Also, within the Panel, you can add, edit, or remove Outlines. These can only be created or changed from within the PDF Editor and provide a hierarchical structure or table of contents to the PDF. Once a destination has been set (using your cursor to highlight), simply select the outline title to be redirected to that exact location.
• Page Rotate Clockwise – Click the
icon until the desired page orientation is reached.• Delete Page– Click the trash icon to delete selected pages. The last remaining page of a PDF cannot be deleted.
• More Options – Click the meatball menu to show additional options.
Move To Top – Moves the selected page(s) to the beginning of the PDF.
Move To Bottom – Moves the selected page(s) to the end of the PDF.
Rotate Page Clockwise – Rotates the selected page(s) clockwise by 25 degrees with each click.
Rotate Counterclockwise – Rotates the selected page(s) counterclockwise by 25 degrees with each click.
Insert – Adds a blank page above or below each selected page.
Replace – Select the page that you wish to replace with another page from a URL or Local File using the Replace Page window. Enter the URL of the desired file OR drag/drop or choose a local file to insert and click the Select button. Pages within a URL or file can include image, pdf, and Microsoft files. On the Replace Page window, select the desired page(s) and click Replace.
Extract – Downloads and/or deletes the selected pages from your PDF named "extractedDocument.pdf". Click the X to cancel the extraction.
View Controls – Displays the Page Transition, Orientation, and Layout viewing controls in the center pane.
Continuous Page – Scroll through pages in a continuous flow.
Page By Page – Scroll through pages with a noticeable page break.
Rotate – See "More Options" section above for description.
Single Page – Displays one page at a time.
Double Page – Displays two pages at one time.
Cover Facing Page – Displays the first page by itself followed by the other pages.
Enter Full Screen – Expands the PDF to your full screen size.
Zoom – Sets the zoom percentage for all pages.
Fit To Width – Increases the PDF page size to the width of the middle pane.
Fit To Page – Adjust the PDF to fit the page.
Marquee Zoom – Click to drag a rectangle of the specific area you wish to zoom.
Zoom out/in – Increases or decreases the size of all pages with a single click.
Pan – Click and drag with the hand icon to view different pages of your PDF.
Select – Selects all texts fields on the current page.
Crop Page – Select the area of the page you wish to resize. Expand Crop Dimensions to adjust the width, height, and X and Y axis. the Click Apply to keep the selected area. To abort, click the Cancel button.
Snipping Tool – Allows a selected area to be copied, downloaded as a .png file, or removed from the PDF.
With Neos Premium, you have more freedom to manipulate content on a page in your PDF. For example, you may wish to revise footer text on a single page, resize content to make room for new verbiage, and more.
