Download the Neos for Word Add-in

The Neos for Word Add-in can be used to create and edit existing templates for document generation in Neos using Word Online or Word for Mac.

Neos Word Add-in: Overview and Requirements

NOTE: The following file extensions are not compatible with Word Online: .dot, .doc, .dotx, .wpd, and no extension.

If your firm plans to utilize Two-Factor Authentication, each user must update to the latest Word Online version PRIOR to enabling 2FA.

Since Intake Tags now match Case Tags, all Intake templates will have to be manually updated to the appropriate tag.

Neos recommends: Firm Administrators who have a Microsoft 365 Global Admin account deploy and manage the Word Online Add-in for all users. Refer to Deploy add-ins in the admin center for the full process from Microsoft. Once the add-in is deployed, it will be available for all users in Word Online and Desktop, however, you may need to relaunch Microsoft 365 to view the add-in icon in the ribbon.

NOTE: To ensure that Neos data generates properly, Tags should not be modified unless noted in the Advanced Document Coding for Word article.

The Neos for Word add-in is available as an app in the Microsoft AppSource. Using the Neos for Word add-in, future updates will automatically occur without intervention.

NOTE: Firms can continue to utilize their Word add-in if installed manually; however, it is still recommended to deploy it through your firm's admin center. The Neos for Word app is another avenue for downloading the Word add-in if it is not currently installed.
