Case Folder Status

An overview of the Case Folder status indicators, which use text and color to show whether a case is open, closed, dormant, or in litigation, and what triggers each status.

A case's status may change during the life cycle of the case. The Case Folder displays text and color to easily distinguish the current case status.

  • - The Case Folder is open and displays the Opened date in the Case Folder header bar.

  • - The Case Folder is closed when the Closed date on the Case tab is entered.

  • - The Case Folder is dormant when the Dormant check box on the Case tab is selected. Refer to Entering Case Tab Information for more details.

  • - The Case Folder contains at least one Auxiliary Checklist that is flagged as "Litigation".

To remove the "IN LITIGATION" status from the Case Header, refer to Modifying an Auxiliary Checklist Title, where you must deselect the 'Litigation' checkbox for that Auxiliary Checklist. The Aux Checklist Title column can be added to the Case Checklist to quickly see the Auxiliary Checklists that have been added to this Case.
