Performing a Mass Update (Case)

Tabs within multiple Cases can be updated at one time using the Mass Update feature in the Companion Cases Tab.

It is important to review the selected cases and the field content you plan to modify before committing to any permanent changes. Changes made using the Mass Update feature cannot be reversed, so it is recommended to carefully review anticipated modifications prior to making a bulk change. For any questions, contact Support to guide you in this process.

NOTE: You must have Modify permission to the Companion Cases Tab and Enabled permission to Special Permissions > Update Multiple Cases.

To update different Case Folder tabs across multiple cases in a Companion Group:

  1. Open the Case Folder that contains the Case(s) you wish to update.

  2. Select the Companion Cases Tab. If the Case is a member of any Companion Cases, the Group Name and list of Group Members (Cases) will display.

  3. Cases may be added to the current Companion Group or the current Case can be added as a member to existing Companion Groups. Refer to Adding a Companion Group and Adding a Case to a Companion Group for more details.

  4. Use the check box in the Group Members pane to select the Case(s) you wish to update.

  5. Select the Mass Update option from the Bulk Actions menu.

  6. On the Update Case(s) window, use the filters to load fields in the Case Folder you wish to change. Use the Case tab field dropdown to select the desired Case Folder tab. Only one tab can be modified at a time for all the selected Cases, however multiple fields can be updated.

Additional fields for Document Tags (Add) and Document Tags (Remove) are included in the Case Documents Tab for bulk edits. Select from the available tags that you wish to add to and/or remove from ALL documents within the case(s).

  7. Click the Save button to proceed with changes. A confirmation banner will display when complete.
