Changing the Case Type

NOTE: You must have at least Enabled permissions to the Case and Special Permissions > Change Case Type.

To change the Case Type of a saved Case:

  1. From within any Case Folder tab, click the meatball menu on the upper right.

  2. Select the Change Case Type option.

  3. On the Case Type Selection window, choose a new Case Type and click the Save button.

  4. A change in Case Type will trigger additional questions relating to existing data on the Case Checklist, User Defined Data, and Primary Staff. Select the desired options and click the Save button.

  • Case Checklist – Choose what to do with existing Checklist items that reference the former Case Type.

    • Delete All Checklist Items

    • Retain All Possible Data (data in user defined fields that do not exist in the new case type will be deleted)
