Sending Invoices

Invoices that are "Due", "Overdue", or "Paid can be sent to contacts in the current case. For firms that have the LawPay integration, invoices can be sent and created in LawPay simultaneously. Refer to Share/Create LawPay Invoices for more details.

NOTE: You must have at least Enabled permissions to Case > Invoicing Tab.

To send an invoice:

  1. On the Value Tab, select the Invoices Tab.

  2. Double-click an invoice marked as Due, Paid, or Overdue.

    NOTE: You can also click the kebab menu and select the Send option.

  3. Click the Send button on the top right of the Invoice detail view.

  4. Select the following fields on the Send Invoice window.

NOTE: Refer to Share & Create LawPay Invoices for more information on the Send with LawPay option.

  • Recipient – Select the contact that you wish to send this invoice. Only names within the Case that have an email address will be available. This required field accepts one contact.

  • Copy – Select additional contacts with which to share this invoice. Multiple names can be selected.

  • All caps description – Select the checkbox to show the Description of the items within the invoice in all caps. Content is pulled from the Memo field on the Value item detail view.

  • Update Issue Date – Select the checkbox to change the Issue Date to the date of sharing.

  • Staff hours summary – When selected, displays a new section below the Adjustments line showing the number of hours each staff billed. Refer to Download Invoices for more details. NOTE: Staff hours summary only displays when the invoice contains billable TIME entries.

5. Click the Send button to email the selected contacts a PDF of the invoice from Neos.

6. The window will close and a confirmation banner will display.

7. All recipients will receive the invoice details and attachment in an email, as shown below.
