Accessing the Activity Feed

A running record of what changed in a Case, when, and by whom. Covers the Grid and Timeline views, filtering by staff, activity type, action type, and date range, and what the icon colors signify.

Case details are often complex and can rapidly change, which is why it is easier to view and act on changes made in a Case within a single view. The Activity Feed is the first tab in all Cases of all Case Types that can quickly bring you up to speed and show how a Case has progressed from beginning to end. Activity across all cases/intakes can be accessed from the Activity Feed Tile in My Dashboards.

With the Activity Feed, you can:

  • Get a full view of important changes made to a Case, including when and by whom

  • Quickly take direct action on items or make changes from an activity

  • Email notes or review new documents directly from the feed

  • Check on important Case milestones and their status using checklist phases

NOTE: The Activity Feed will be blank for all cases. As staff add, edit, and delete content in a Case, the feed will populate respectively. Changes made in a Case typically display in the Activity Feed within 1-2 hours, but could take longer.

To access the Activity Feed:

  1. Open any Case.

  2. From the list of available tabs, select the first tab for "Activity Feed".

The Activity Feed tracks all changes made throughout a Case. The Activity Feed has two view options. Both views are accessible in the Activity Feed for the Case, Intake, and My Dashboards. Your selected view will be retained when accessing other locations that use the Activity Feed. All views have expanded descriptions, allowing you to see pertinent information in fewer clicks.

  • Grid is the default view for better organization and readability. The Grid view provides a structured format of activities in a grid for better navigation. Select a single entry to access the preview pane. Click the right arrow to view additional details and access the View/Edit buttons (refer to individual activity articles for available buttons). Toggle the Expand All / Collapse All button above the grid to open or close all expanded views. The Grid view contains default columns for Activity, Date (sorted newest to oldest), Description, and Author. Columns can be omitted and rearranged as needed; however, column headings cannot be sorted.

  • Timeline is the original Activity Feed view that offers a condensed view of activities by date. Case activity is displayed in a single feed separated by date (day – month – year) and time. Each activity is displayed on its own line, distinguishable by icons that relate to the entity type. The Staff who made the change is listed next to each activity. Value Transaction is linked to the Value Tab and is read-only on the Activity Feed. Other types of activities can provide a preview of the item, the ability to be edited in the detail view with a single click, and the option to email, download, or send documents to DocuSign, as well as email notes.

While the icons based on activity type have not changed, the colors have changed based on action type.

  • Blue – Added, Moved To, Moved From, Copied To, Copied From, Migrated, and Submitted.

  • Green – Completed, Signed, Sent, Approved, Paid, and Opened.

  • Purple – Updated.

  • Red – Deleted and Denied.

  • Neutral – Voided.

Filter Activities

On both Timeline and Grid view, activities can be filtered for particular Staff (multi-select). If blank, all Staff will be included in the view.

Since all updates are tracked, activities can be easily filtered by Activity Type – the location where the change took place (e.g., Value, Case, Document, etc.), Action Type – the type of change that was performed (Added, Moved, Paid, etc.), and Date Range. Click the Apply button to filter activities based on the selected criteria. Remove all filters by clicking the Reset All button and Apply.

Click the Actions button above the Phases to see a list of reports available for the current Case. Click here for more details on utilizing Reports for Case.
