Adding Value Items from Settlement

Using the new Settlement section on the Value Tab, additional Value entries can be created without having to leave the current view.

NOTE: You must have Add permissions to Case > Value Tab.

To add Value items from the Settlement section:

  1. Navigate to the Settlement section in the Value Tab of a Case,

  2. If there are no Attorney Fee entries for any Party, click the blue + Add Attorney Fees button.

  3. If Attorney Fees or Due to Client entries exist or to add entries for Due to Firm or Due to Others, click the plus icon.

  4. If there are no client disbursements for any Party, click the + Add Disbursement button.

  5. A new Value Entry window will display with the following details based on your selection:

  • Attorney Fees - The Value Code field will be blank by default. The Party field will default to the selected Party on the Settlement section or the First Party in the Case (when All Parties is selected). The Provider will default to your Firm Name.

  • Due to Firm -The Due To Firm (e.g, DTF) Value Code Type will display by default in the Value Code field. The Party field will default to the selected Party on the Settlement section or the First Party in the Case (when All Parties is selected). The Provider will default to your Firm Name.

  • Due to Others - The Value Code and Provider fields will be blank by default. The Party field will default to the selected Party on the Settlement section or the First Party in the Case (when All Parties is selected).

6. Due to Client – The Value Code and Provider will be blank by default. The Party field will default to the selected Party on the Settlement section or the First Party in the Case (when All Parties is selected). Enter the details of the Value entry and click Save. Data from the new Value entry will update the categories and amount due aggregations.
