Searching for a Case can be accomplished by selecting any of the Case criteria in the dropdown. The dropdown contains fields from the Case Tab that can be used as search criteria.
If you know information about a Case or Intake, you can retrieve the Neos entry using the following criteria:
Case # / Intake #
Alt Case #
Case Name
DOI (Date of Incident)
COD (Case Open Date)
Case Title
Docket #
Claim #
Select the desired criteria option and enter text in the Search field. Click the Search icon
or hit the ENTER key to perform the search.
Case #/Intake #
Neos automatically generates the Case or Intake number. Cases and Intakes are assigned consecutive numbers as they are entered into the system, beginning with the number 200001. A Case or Intake can be retrieved using the full Case or Intake number, or the last four digits.
Alt Case #
The Alternate Case number is optional and is determined by your firm's Case numbering system. Some firms use different internal file numbering in their office or perhaps track important administrative numbers relevant to the Case Type. Alternate Case numbers are defined on the Labels tab for each Case Type in the Case Type Directory. The Alt Case # is sometimes used when integrating with a document management program. The system allows for two Alternate Case numbers per Case Type, so the search is performed using the Alternate Case #1 and Alternate Case #2 fields.
A Case can be retrieved using a complete or partial Alternate Case number. Alternate Case number can be alphanumerical.
Case Name
Uses the Case Name field from the Case Tab in a global search. This search term is similar to Case Title. Results will display first by exact matches, then by partial matches that start with the search, followed by partial matches that contain the search. The Case Name logic will also be used when using the All search criteria.
DOI (Date of Incident)
DOI is a case label that can be renamed for each Case Type in the Case Type Directory > Labels tab. A Case can be retrieved using the complete or partial Date of Incident. Click the calendar icon
to select a date.
The Search field contains the default date format, so you do not need to enter a slash in your search.
COD (Case Open Date)
The Case Open Date is automatically inserted when a case is created. A Case can be retrieved using the complete or partial Case Open Date. Click the calendar icon to select a date. The Search field contains the default date format, so you do not need to enter a slash in your search.
Case Title
A case can be retrieved using the complete or partial Case Title.
Docket #
The Docket number field is located in the Court Information section of a Case Tab. A Case can be retrieved using the complete or partial Docket number. Docket numbers can be alphanumerical.
Claim #
The Claim number field is located in the Policy Information section of the Insurance tab. A Case can be retrieved using the complete or partial Claim number. Claim numbers can be alphanumerical.
