The Case Documents Tab now contains settings to change the Case Folder Name. If case files for the active case already exist in a different folder name, this feature can be used to link to the appropriate folder in your firm's SharePoint. The Change option will change the link to the selected folder in SharePoint.
NOTE: If the Case Folder is changed, the documents in the original folder will need to be imported to the new Case Documents Folder.
The Change Case Folder option will change the directory path from the current folder name to a selected folder that currently exists in your firm's SharePoint.
On the Case Documents Tab, click the settings menu and select the Change Case Folder option.
The Change case directory path window will display. Locate the desired folder to change the Case directory path. Click the Select button.
When the process is complete, the Documents Tab will be saved and a banner will display alerting you to manually move the files from the previous (old) folder to the new folder.
When the Documents Tab is refreshed, the new folder name (e.g., Summers, Jessica - 206648) will display above the grid including any documents that already existed in that folder from SharePoint.
Documents from the previous folder (e.g., Summers, Jessica M. – 206648) are still located in the old folder in SharePoint and can be accessed using the List View on the Case Documents Tab in Neos.
To manually move the files in Neos from the previous folder to the new folder:
On the Documents Tab list view, click the settings button on the top right and select the Import option.
Locate the files from the previous folder using the Drive Files window. Refer to Importing Documents and Folders for more details.
Choose the appropriate Type, Category, and Tags, as needed to organize the file(s). Remember, documents are placed into a subfolder of the selected Type in SharePoint for the active Case. Click the Save button to continue.
A Processing/Complete window will display on the bottom right to show the status of the imported document(s).
Once complete, switch to the Folder View to see the added document(s). If a Type was chosen, the file(s) will be located within that folder.
The document(s) from the previous folder can be deleted from Neos to avoid any confusion when switching to the List View.
NOTE: When documents are deleted from a folder in Neos, they are also deleted from the linked folder in your firm's SharePoint.
