When at least one Case is open and has a timer, new timers can be started for other open Cases from anywhere in Neos. For example, Staff can start the timer for an open Case when running a report, reviewing Calendar items, or browsing anywhere else in Neos.
Click the ellipsis button in the top navigation.
NOTE: You can also add a new timer from the Start Timer button.
In the Timer Summary Pane, click the New Timer button.
On the Start Timer window, select an open Case for which to create a timer. This is a required field to start the timer. Only open Cases will be listed and only one timer can be created per Case.
Enter a Description of what you will be working on in the Case. This field is optional and can be changed any time before the time entry is complete. The Description field will automatically populate with the description from the selected Task Code. Up to 5,000 characters can be entered.
Select the appropriate Task Code related to the time you are spending in the case. This field is optional and can be changed any time before the time entry is complete.
Select the appropriate Activity Code related to the time you are spending on the case. This field is optional and can be changed at any time before the time entry is complete. Activities are defined in the Activity Codes Mini Directory and are denoted with an "A" before the number, e.g., "A102 Research". A list of standard Activity Codes by the American Bar Association can be found here. Activity Code is an optional field.
Click the Start button to initiate the timer for the selected Case.
When the Start button is clicked, the timer will initiate on the top pane and on the open Case. The running time will display in the top navigation with action options. The tab for the open case tracks the hours and minutes. Hover over the time to see the associated Case.
