The Staff Permissions tab in Settings > Staff Profiles allows you to set the desired permission for a single staff. The General Permissions tab contains a list of areas and functions in Neos where a staff may or may not have access. The Other Permissions tab allows for specific Case Types, Report Categories or Cases to be excluded from a staff's access.
A staff can also be a member of one or more Permission Groups. Permission Groups allow permissions to be set for all staff included in a group. While a staff may be a member of many permission groups, access granted in Staff Permissions will always override any group level permissions.
NOTE: You must have the proper permissions to the Staff Directory to access Staff Permissions.
Refer to Permission Groups for details on creating permission groups, adding staff to a permission group and setting the permissions for a specific group.
Assigning Permissions
Staff permission levels determine the access a single staff has to different Neos functions. Neos uses a four-level system to set permissions for each function. When the corresponding permission is checked, the permission levels for each function are granted for that staff. Conversely, if a permission is unchecked, the permission levels for each staff are denied. A staff's permissions can be configured exclusively in the Staff Directory or they can be inherited from the Permission Group(s) where they are a member.
NOTE: In order for staff to inherit, you must set their Staff General Permission to Inherit All (from each top level category). Refer to Assigning Staff General & Special Permissions for more details.
Permission levels are defined as:
Permission Level | Permission |
Enabled? | View with read-only access |
Can add? | View and add |
Can modify? | View and modify |
Can delete? | View and delete |
Staff Permission access is organized by three tabs: General Permissions, Special Permissions and Other Permissions.
The permission header, including tabs, search, and permissions key, is anchored to the top of the page when scrolling through the General or Special Permissions.
Refer to Assigning General Staff Permissions, Assigning Special Permissions and Assigning Other Permissions for more details.
