Advanced Search is a powerful tool for locating data in your Neos database. There are many Search For records and filter options that can be used to build your query. Some of these options from I to Q are outlined in this article.
For additional options, refer to Advanced Search Filter Options – A-C, Advanced Search Filter Options – D-H & Advanced Search Filter Options – R-Z.

Important (Notes)
The Mark as Important option allows Case/Intake notes to be flagged with a red background and exclamation icon. Notes that have been marked Important can be filtered in Advanced Search.
Choose between Equal or Not Equal as the operator and True or False as the final output.
The Important column can also be included in the search results by clicking the Columns button above the grid and searching for "Important". You will see it located under the "CaseNote" section.
Intakes & Intakes and Cases
Intakes and Intakes and Cases will locate Intakes and/or Cases that match your selected variables. New Intake-related criteria are available. Marketing Campaign will locate the matching marketing campaigns created in Intake Settings (Plat). Marketing Source will locate the matching marketing sources created in the Source Mini Directory.
The Intakes & Cases search now allows you to include the Stage column in your results. The Stage column shows if the result is a Case or Intake.
Invoices
Advanced Search queries can now be created using "Invoices" as a new Search for criterion. Invoices can also be searched within the Value and Value Transaction criteria. The available filters will be similar to the Value criteria but will also include the following additional filters. These filters will also be present as columns in the results grid.

Job Title
Formally a text field in the Personal Information section, this required dropdown field in Staff Profiles now utilizes the Job Titles Mini Directory to more accurately create staff-related reports. Job Title can be used as a filter, shown below, and as a column under the "Staff" category.
Advanced Search results will generate a list of Case Staff with the selected Job Title, including the Case data.
Last Update Time
The Last Update Time filter can be used when searching for Cases, Intake, and Intakes and Cases. It can also be used in other search conditions, like The "Last Update Time" column can be added to your results to show the MM-DD-YYYY of the last update for the Case/Intake.
NOTE: The date will only be accurate for Cases as of the 25.06 release and going forward. Since this column was historically only used for new & updated Intakes, the Last Update Time may reflect an older date, relating to when the Intake was converted to a Case. If the date is blank, it was created originally as a Case (not made into a Case from an Intake) and cannot be tracked prior to the release. When an update is made (after the 25.06 release), the last updated date will be tracked going forward. Intakes created or updated after the 21.07 release should have an accurate date.
LEDES Description
When Value is set as the default Advanced Search, LEDES Description can be selected as a filter option. Select the desired operator: Contains, Equal, Is Blank, Is Not Blank, Not Equal, and Starts With. Then use the Text field to locate Value entries by the LEDES Description. The LEDES Description column can also be added to the grid results.
Note Subject
The Subject field of a General Case Note can be searched using Notes: Case > Notes > Note Subject. Use the operator field and set the value to locate notes that start with, contain, are equal to, or are not equal to the entered text, or if the Subject field is blank or not blank. Matching note entries will display in the search results.
NOTE: The First Party Name column is no longer a default column when conducting a new Notes Advanced Search. This column can be added manually under Case > First Party Name. Your saved Advanced Search reports will remain intact.
Note Summary
AI Generated Notes can now be searched when using Notes > Note Summary criteria. The Note Summary filter is also available wherever Note filters are available (e.g., Intakes, Cases, Value, etc.). The following operators will be available: Contains, Equal, Is Blank, Is Not Blank, Not Equal, and Starts With.
NOTE: The First Party Name column is no longer a default column when conducting a new Notes Advanced Search. This column can be added manually under Case > First Party Name. Your saved Advanced Search reports will remain intact.
"Note Summary" can also be added as a column in your search results.
NOTE: If your firm does not have NeosAI or if the Note has not yet been summarized with AI, the Note Summary column will be blank.
Practice Area
New filters for Case Type > Practice Area have been added to Advanced Search when the Search for dropdown is set to Cases OR Intakes and Cases. Select the operator (e.g., Equals, Is Not Blank, etc.) and then choose from the list of available Practice Areas. Refer to the Case Type > General Tab for more details.
